Is no one listening to ANY music at the moment............this forum is dying!

Here's my top 5 random records that I've been listening to this week...in no particular order.

Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight (IMMENSE record, I defy anyone not to smile when that drum roll comes in)

Pixies - Here Comes Your Man (What can you say. Not shabby)

Alex Reece - Pulp Fiction (The greatest Drum and Bass track of all time. End of)

Barry White - Love's Theme (Cracker of an instrumental, the Walrus of Love strikes back from the grave)

LCD Soundsystem - Yeah, yeah, yeah [Stupid Version] (Stupidly good, that's what)

Barry White - Love's Theme (Cracker of an instrumental, the Walrus of Love strikes back from the grave)

It was by the Love Unlimited Orchestra (arranged and conducted by Barry though). But yes, it is ace.

Yours pedantically,
Steve

GU Romania. The second disc's wicked. Too much UNKLE stuff on the first though, the shameless self-promoter that he is.

Here Here, I second that. Although Sabot is a highlight on Disc 1.

CD rocks, nice build on the tracks the medway mix of invation is wikked. CD 1 has some cool tracks on it. PFN Flow is a highlight. My problem with it is "in a State" twice on one comp. Come on, why? he should have just put the sasha mix at the end and leave it at that. Still I keep coming back to it.

I hear ya loud and clear steve. Its a shame that the first CD could have so much going for it. I don't mide the Queens track starting things off. But the mix into "in a state"........well, creative mixing could be done alot better. I KEEP TELLING YOU MOTHER FUCKERS NO MORE SUBLIMIBAL SHIT!!!!!!

Like very much the 'LCD Sounsystem - yeah, yeah, yeah'. I bought it a couple of months back, both DJ Hell & Errol Alkan played it at Bugged out.

A top Barry White break I bought recently is: 'your the one that i need' its pure hip hop.

Alex Reece - ace! What about 'Photek - Modus Operatus' - I've been playing that a lot recently and it still sounds timeless.

Today I've been listenin' to 'Ahmad Jamal - The Awakening' (dope as), and 'John Coltrane - Blue Train.' (45 years old and sounds better than anything else about)
j-j-j-j-jazz.

New stuff I've heard that I like by:
Method Man & Busta Rhymes - what's happenin
Madvillain - Madvillainy
Kanye West - College Dropout

If they'll do the Forum I don't see why they wouldn't do UG.

Though, when they were at the Forum I seem to recall Chris (whasisname) being more impressive than james lavelle.

Richard File? Thought he was distinctly mediocre at UG.

If you say so, you know my problem with names of stuff. But no, I thought the one who wasn't meant to be the good one was better. So not Lavelle then. Just my take on it, I only started to take anything in around midnight, I was actually asleep in the swimming pool from 9 til about half ten.

Nirvana - Lounge Act

Heard it on a Nirvana/Bill Hicks retrospective on r1 last night (Nirvana tracks interspersed with Bill Hicks skits)

Stood out more than I would have previously imagined.

ps. I realised I had heard more of Bill Hicks than i thought. Either that or they drew almost all the jokes from that one show in London.
